Maynard Leigh is a community. Currently we're about 20 people sharing common values, committed to our own and other people's personal growth. Everyone here is passionate about our work, wanting it to affect an increasing number of people and organisations.

QUALITY OF OUR ASSOCIATE FACULTY

Maynard Leigh Associates excels on the quality of performance coaches and our processes. We recruit the best. And even then we spend a long time developing them in Maynard Leigh approaches and techniques. This takes many months. They are assessed, scrutinized and coached throughout this period before becoming accredited to lead our events.

They then receive continuous professional development. We run regular events to keep them up to scratch and to explore new ideas in management development. Each performance coach also receives an annual review consisting of a total 360 degree feedback assessment. As well as this they are occasionally visited on-site by one of the directors and given feedback on their effectiveness. Each event is subject to evaluation and these sheets are read by the client consultant. We have continuous dialogue with our associates in order to address any quality issues.

We also have a supervision service where associates can book time for support in any issues they are facing. And our focuses are:

  • We are a Learning Organisation
  • We collate and share best practice from around the world, so that our workshop leaders are aware of developments in the learning and development environment and our courses are up-to-date. 
  • We undertake extensive R&D to ensure that our workshop leaders are up-to-date with management practices. For example, we hold network seminars to talk about current issues in HR and Learning & Development, attend conferences, host development events, and run regular experimental sessions to explore new learning technology. 
  • We run in-house development programmes for our leaders
  • We keep a close check on the quality of our programmes, through feedback sheets from the participants and constant communication with the client contact.

Quality of the Development Experience

  • Our leaders have an unusual expertise in working one-to-one, offering a high level of insight into coaching and developing each individual that they work with.
  • The way the courses are structured: we look at an issue, explore it using an exercise, extract learning points then apply it back to the workplace. We take participants on a well-crafted journey of learning and discovery, where their ‘whole self’ is engaged and worked with.
  • The result of these skills means that our development events produce behavioural change. That really do make a difference.
CONSULTANTS AND LEADERS

All our leaders and consultants are expert workshop leaders with an interest in the psychological aspects of  human potential development. They have a good working knowledge of business and corporate life. We look for people with acting or directing, experience. Being an actor is seldom enough to get you into the  community. We search for those able to help our company grow, and who'll take an active part in building the  community, with that special magic that can make a difference. We're all in it for the long term.

DEVELOPMENT

People regularly explore how they are doing in Maynard Leigh and identify where they need to develop and  grow further. There are review sessions and no one escapes these, not even the directors. Most months we host a dedicated development day (D3). We learn more about the company's capabilities, share lessons from client work, consultancy, coaching and workshops. It's an important networking opportunity and helps strengthen our relationships.

We hold an annual retreat over a full weekend for the entire company.

FIRST STEPS

Regardless of your experience it usually takes around a year or eighteen months before you have experienced enough Maynard Leigh activities to fully represent us with clients or lead a workshop on your own.
